“Rather than directing our gaze (as activists) toward power, telling them things that they know very well over and over again, we need to make sure that the majority of our gaze is to the powerless. And to ensure that we are doing everything we can so that they have tools, capabilities and confidence, to actually speak and act, and have their agency to actually contribute, because that’s the only time those at the top are going to listen” (KN).
